Preparing For Worship: June 14th, 2009

This weekend I will be away at the Resolved Conference helping to lead worship with the Resolved band: Enfield. For more info on the Resolved Conference, CLICK HERE.

My brother Donny will be leading worship for me this weekend while I'm gone. Pastor Todd will be preaching out of Joshua 2, and you'll get to hear from Peter and Heather Malakar who are missionaries in India!

The worship team will lead the morning off with the songs Enough and Good To Me. Then Pastor Todd will come and welcome everyone with a greeting time, after which he'll interview Peter and Heather, and talk a little bit about Crossroads' short term missions trip to India next summer, during which we'll be working closely with the Malakars.

The worship team will lead in For You Are The Lord, and From The Inside Out before Pastor Todd comes and continues our series in Joshua, this week teaching from chapter two where the Isrealite spies hide out with Rahab the prostitute! It's an action packed chapter, so be sure to read it before Sunday. CLICK HERE to read it online!

The worship team will close the service with Jesus Paid It All.

I'll miss being with you this weekend, but look forward to being back for Father's Day weekend!

Welcome To Crossroads Community Church's Worship Blog

This blog is a tool for the church community to prepare to come together and worship each Sunday.

So often we go to church just expecting to "be fed." It's true that we need to come with empty hands expecting to be filled with the love and goodness of God each week.

BUT...

I also believe that the church body has a responsibility to each other, and to the Lord, to take this weekly gathering very seriously, and that we should come prepared to participate, and to minister to each other.

This blog helps us to know a little more about what is going on in our services, so that we can prepare by praying, reading the scripture text, looking up the songs we'll sing together, and learning new songs, etc.

It also helps to keep us thinking about worship and our walk with the Lord throughout the week. The way we think through and approach every area of life is an act of worship, and it's the task of the believer to direct that worship towards God in the way we interact with life.
