Preparing For Worship: December 19th, 2010
Merry Christmas! This Sunday we focus on celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ! The Savior foretold through Old Testament prophecies who would bear the sins of all mankind in his own body as he was crushed by God on a cross. The Savior who would rise again three days later, permanently defeating sin and death, and solidifying our hope of forgiveness and eternal life with God!
Won't you join us this Sunday to celebrate?? Wear a funky Christmas sweater, a colorful scarf, or even a Santa hat (we don't think Santa is an anagram for Satan!); something to add to the cheer and excitement of the morning!
Remember, we have THREE SERVICES this week, at 8:00am, 9:30am, and 11:00am. And also remember that the 8:00am service will ONLY have childcare for infant - Kindergarten (the 9:30 and 11:00 will have full Kids' Ministry through 6th grade). Whichever service you come to, get there early, as seats are going to fill up fast!!
Get started on practicing your Christmas Carols, 'cause we're singing them this Sunday! Here's the official set list with video links so you know which ones to rehearse in your shower or car:
-O Come All Ye Faithful (I just HAD to embed this video here 'cause it's THAT cool!)
-Joy To The World
-Carol Medley - just the first verses of: Good Christian Men Rejoice; Infant Holy, Infant Lowly; O Little Town Of Bethlehem; It Came Upon A Midnight Clear; Silent Night; and Away In A Manger.
-O Holy Night
-Go Tell It On The Mountain
Pastor Todd will be preaching a Christmas message from the book of Isaiah talking about the prophetic names ascribed to Jesus hundreds of years before his birth! It will really give us some amazing perspective on that sweet, little baby.
So don't miss this week! Let's celebrate together! See you Sunday!
